Chocolate Chip Cookies Ingredients
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 cup packed light brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1 tsp baking soda
2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
14 oz sweetened condensed milk
10 oz soft caramel, unwrapped
1 teaspoon flaky sea salt
Chocolate Chip Cookies- Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degree Fahrenheit. Line a 9×13-inch baking dish with foil and coat generously with nonstick cooking spray.
In the bowl of an electric mixer, beat softened butter with both sugars until light and fluffy, about 2 minutes. Add eggs, vanilla, salt and baking soda. Mix well, then scrape down the sides of the bowl with a spatula.
Reduce speed and add flour. Beat to combine, then mix in chocolate chips.
Press semi of the cookies dough into the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
In a medium saucepan, add sweetened condensed milk and unsweetened caramels. Set over medium-low heat and stir until caramel melts, forming a smooth caramel filling. Pour filling over cookie dough base.
Pour remaining cookies dough over caramel filling in small spoon-sized clumps. Bake the bars for 20-25 minutes, until the center is just set.
Sprinkle with the sea salt flakes and let the bars cool completely. Then lift the bars from the pan by the sides of the foil and cut them. Store in an airtight bowl at room temperature for up to 3 days.
